Groupware is one of the earliest concepts in the world of knowledge management, particularly in the context of software. More precisely, the concept was recognized before anyone even dreamed of the concept of knowledge management itself in the computing world. Under the heading of Groupware, software was sold that facilitated the sharing of information, data, and knowledge among a group.
Over time, the concept did not fade, but rather evolved in the spirit of innovation. Today, these software programs are already a self-evident infrastructure, and the new term is "collaboration tools." Technology has advanced - email and document management are now taken for granted, and innovative tools facilitate knowledge sharing among groups of people in various fields, including expert communities and knowledge management.
