💡 When Knowledge Becomes an Organizational Capability ⚙️

For years, in Knowledge Management, we have focused on capturing knowledge, organizing it, sharing it, and making it accessible.
The new AI era introduces something fundamentally different: turning knowledge into organizational capabilities.

We can already see this happening in, at least, two powerful ways:
🔹 Tools such as Claude Code can take specifications and business rules, translate them into algorithms, and ultimately into working software.
🔹 Even more exciting for us as Knowledge Managers: we can capture the unique knowledge of experts and transform it into smart agents that think and work alongside employees, applying organizational expertise to complex decisions.

Imagine an agent that helps:
🍏 Diagnose a malfunction in a unique set of machines that exists only in your organization
🍏 Conduct a better Lessons Learned process, based on the organization’s own methodology and experience
🍏 Determine the most appropriate support framework for a child at risk, considering the specific situation and the range of available responses

This is much more than making knowledge easier to find.
It is turning knowledge into an active organizational capability.

At ROM Global, we have already begun putting this idea into practice, and each implementation strengthens our belief that much of KM’s future value lies in turning knowledge into capabilities that actively support the work itself.
The sky is the limit.
And perhaps, after decades of talking about knowledge as an organizational asset, knowledge is finally beginning to truly work for us.
